The Arrowhead flexible Production Value Network (fPVN) project is developing autonomous information interoperability capabilities through machine-interpretable content for fPVN stakeholders. Piaget Insight, in particular, is contributing ontology-based semantic solutions to fPVN that aim to advance translation service technology, facilitating seamless data model translation across prominent data modeling languages such as ISO 10303, ISO 15926, IEC 81346, and S5000F. The resulting technology is projected to substantially impact manufacturing productivity and flexibility.

PI: Toacy Oliveira; Funding: €496k, EU Horizon2030

XR5.0 will build, demonstrate, and validate a novel Person-Centric and AI-based XR paradigm that will be tailored to the requirements and nature of Industry 5.0 applications. In this direction, the project will specify structuring principles and blueprints for using Extended Reality (XR) in Industry 5.0 applications with emphasis on the development of innovative “XR-made-in-Europe” technology that blends with human-centric manufacturing technologies and adheres to European values. The XR5.0 applications will consider the characteristics and context of the worker based on the integration of human-centered digital twins (DTs) that comprise the “digital image” of the worker. At the same time, XR5.0 will design and implement a unique blending of XR technology and advanced AI paradigms, including AI technologies that foster the interplay between humans and AI such as explainable AI (XAI), Active Learning (AL), Generative AI (GenAI), and neuro symbolic learning. Most importantly, XR5.0 will build a vibrant community of interested stakeholders around the project outcomes. This community will provide a basis for the sustainability and wider uptake of the project’s results towards maximizing the impact of the project’s use cases.

The Portuguese Medical Simulation Repository (PMSR) provides sustainable, scalable knowledge graph technology to advance medical simulation research by providing innovative capabilities for data collection and sharing. Within the PMSR project we are designing and building a data integration infrastructure that automatically pulls newly published data sets from medical simulation community, validates them for interoperability and integration compliance, and publishes them to the community through the PMSR. The PMSR also enables collaboration amongst medical professionals facilitating the creation and dissemination of community-supplied analytical tools.

PI: Natanael Quintino; Funding: €59k, EU Horizon2030

The PAUSA project, developed atop the innovative NebulOus Meta Operating System, represents a ground-breaking initiative to enhance urban planning and public health management through advanced environmental monitoring. This project is set to deploy a comprehensive serverless architecture that not only addresses the urgent need for sustainable urban development but also harnesses cutting-edge technology to manage and analyse environmental data effectively. PAUSA aims to develop a robust platform capable of real-time monitoring of city pollution, predictive air quality modelling, and generating actionable insights for urban management. This effort is crucial in today’s context, where urban centres face increasing environmental challenges that significantly impact public health, regulatory compliance, and quality of life.

PI: Mário Marques

This project aims to assess the maturity of entities in the municipality of Almada in terms of cybersecurity and cyber-resilience: cybersecurity literacy (hygiene) and awareness (focused on people); and cyber-resilience, at a technological level (focused on technology). This assessment will support the lines of intervention to be defined with people and institutions, to increase knowledge and robustness with regard to cybersecurity literacy and cyber-resilience.

PI: António Rosinha

The “Psychological Capital: Diagnosis and Intervention in Military and Security Professionals” Project aims to ensure the promotion of mental health and well-being among professionals in the Armed Forces and security sectors through evaluation and intervention based on positive psychological capital (PsyCap). This project employs a multidisciplinary and integrative approach to diagnose and address the psychological issues of these professionals, with the intention of fostering healthy environments within the workplace context.

PI: António Rosinha

The “Emotional Climate and Psychosocial Context” Project aims to explore the socio-emotional climate in Portugal and Brazil, analyzing how it relates to individual and social variables such as stress, anxiety, depression, life satisfaction, job satisfaction, resilient coping, perceived organizational support, and work-family conflict. This cross-cultural study seeks to understand the similarities and differences between the two countries, contributing to the understanding of the impact of emotional climate in the psychosocial context.

This project aims to promote equal opportunities by giving women access to a training process, free of charge and tailored to their personal circumstances and interests. As it is aimed at women in situations of social vulnerability, it complies with the objectives of equal opportunities and gender equality policies, helping to reduce gender inequality in access to the job market by creating their own businesses, while also encouraging women to create their own individual and social tools in order to achieve greater integration into the job market.
